Report

This match to was prove a hard-fought affair as Molly Malones proved to be resilient and capable opponents. The game was an even affair throughout with each team benefitting from dubious refereeing decisions. Partisan went one goal to the good after Guri had been clearly upended in the box. After Partisan's recent poor penalty record it was left to the capable Pedersen to fire Partisan into an early lead. This lead was carried through until half time but it must be said that Molly's had a clear goal not given when the ball came down off the bar and landed the correct side of the goal line. Half Time: Partisan 1 - 0 Mollys Partisan went two up in the second half after Guri had slotted in after nice work from Pedersen and Kudrev on the left-hand side. However, Molly's did not give up and they were back in the game after a good goal by their menacing forward. Partisan extended their lead to 3-1 when Guri latched on to a Johnson free kick and coolly slotted into the roof of the net. Partisan should have then went on to dominate the game but credit to Molly's who kept pressing Partisan high up the pitch, forcing Partisan into mistakes. The first came when Johnson gave the ball needlessly away in midfield to find his Molly's counterpart pick a lovely pass out to his forward who again applied a great finish. 3-2 and game on. At this point Molly's kept pressing and when their forward went down easily in the box after Gordon had fairly shouldered him off the ball you knew the ref was going to make up for his earlier howler with the aforementioned not given goal, and a penalty was given and duly stroked into the back of the net. 3-3. If that wasn't enough excitement then the icing on the cake came when a free kick was given to Partisan about 30 yards out. Johnson stepped up and put the ball goal-wards and to be honest didn't know what happened next as chaos ensued in the box with pushing and shoving, deflections and flicks, resulting in the ball going in the goal. 4-3 Partisan. Partisan had gotten out of jail and won the game. Unbelievable!
