A romp on the icy fields of Sterboholy It was a cold and wintery morn when Partisan and Cosmos met to do battle. Cosmos (formerly known as the British X1), were out to do themselves justice after being thrashed 8-1 by IFC and they started the game pretty brightly. Truth be told, they were actually missing some players and sequestered one of Partisans own, Vinhas aka Le Tigre, and he proceeded to show us why not to lend him to our opponents. Two sublime balls over the slow-footed Partisan defense saw a former guard from the 1st Republic slide two past Partisan keeper, Radek I aint 30 yet mutha f**ka, giving the Cosmos a very early lead. Of course Partisan plugged away and got one back just before half time due to some great work by Fredriksen. Half Time: Partisan 1 - 2 Cosmos There was a bit of a reshuffle at half-time and one has to say that things were all Partisan after that. The equalizer was a viking combo, Fredriksen played perfect ball to Bugel who slotted in from the back post, depending on where you were standing. The Cosmos went ahead again due to a dubious free kick on the box as their midfielder kicked Alexander who was charged with the foul. The ball deflected off Mark the preying Mantis Child and the little big man in goal had no chance, 3-2 to Cosmos. Partisan equalised again almost immediately, Child's corner (third attempt to put a decent one in) onto Fredriksen's head who headed onto Bugel who headed in for his second. That's a lot of head. 3-3 Then came Vinhas' attacking prowess. Johnson fooled everyone and passed a free kick for Fredriksen to blast into the box; his shot was blocked, but Vinhas was onhand for the rebound, hitting a lovely lob which everyone had been waiting for (the goalie was a tad short). The second he squeaked by at the near post from just outside the box. 3-5 Alexander was on head to clean up after Fredriksens header came off the bar. Guri then came from past a few players and scored with a low shot from about 20 yards. 7-3 By now two Cosmos players had gone off injured and they had to borrow another, this time Child joining their ranks. They got a late conciliation goal to make it 4-7 before the final whistle went.
